“Targeting your Recruitment Message” is an introduction to proven best practices with in the world of volunteer management. ServeWyoming is part of the HandsOn Network, and we follow their training curriculum. We develop our volunteer engagement techniques and tailor them to the community/organization’s needs. We do incorporate a very short segment on what Volunteer Wyoming is and how it can help you find volunteers.

The first portion of the training will discuss Volunteer Engagement. The training will discuss what motivates volunteers, recruitment basics and volunteer recruitment strategies.

The next topic discussed will be how your organization’s history, culture and cause will impact recruitment and the implementation of a volunteer program. This section will introduce how to get your paid staff on board with your volunteer needs and program design. There will be an introductory discussion of designing volunteer position descriptions and best practices of retaining volunteers once they are active in your organization. This will include understanding the different stages of the volunteer life cycle and how the motivations at each stage influence retaining volunteers. The final topic of the evening will be introducing “rules” for recognizing your organization’s volunteers.

This is an interactive training which provides times of group activity during the evening to aid in learning and retention of the materials provided. We will be providing light refreshments during the training and the course materials. The only materials we ask that you bring with you are your volunteer recruitment marketing materials, as this will be used during one of the training.  Should you have any questions, please contact ServeWyoming at 307-234-3428.
